WHAT IS YOGA ALLIANCE? AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Yoga Alliance is considered the “governing body” over yoga. For many years, there was no organization that ensured that your yoga teacher had proper training- until Yoga Alliance. Being certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance means that you have attended a yoga school that has been recognized by Yoga Alliance as having met all of their requirements for their teaching curriculum. Yoga Alliance currently recognizes 200 hr and 500 hr RYT programs. Zen Garden Yoga is a recognized Registered Yoga School (RYS) by Yoga Alliance. ZGY meets the Yoga Alliance requirements for a 200 hr teacher training program; however, the ZGY program is actually a 230 hr. Teacher training. WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE ZGY TEACHER TRAINING?
In the ZGY teacher training, you will learn the proper alignment skills, methodology and techniques for teaching basic through advanced asana. We will explore anatomy, physiology and pranayama as well, but the depth of our training doesn’t stop there! We will delve into yogic philosophy and ethics, dive into the Bhagavad Gita and swim in the Yoga Sutras while opening our minds to meditation, mantras and mudras, too!
HOW LONG IS THE ZGY 200 HR TEACHER TRAINING? AND WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
This training encompasses 8 awe-inspiring weekends beginning in Aug 2013.

*No training in Oct. due to optional travel to India

• Feb. 21-23
• Mar. 14-16
• Apr. 25-27
Make-Up Weekend May 16-18
*We will take October off from weekend workshops, but will use them for observing, assisting and traveling to India (optional, not included in training cost).
WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?
**If a makeup class is necessary due to instructor illness or inclement weather, the makeup date will be held 5/16-18 and there will be no charge to the student; however, if a teacher trainee misses a class, makeup classes will incur additional cost for the teacher’s time. Cost is $250. Trainees will not be provided a certificate of completion until all classes are made up; therefore, we suggest that Teacher Trainees plan to attend all workshop weekends.
WHERE WILL THE TRAININGS BE HELD?
Most of the training time will be spent at the main ZGY studio location in the Hillcrest Shopping Center at 1040 Fernwood-Glendale Rd. Suite 58, Spartanburg, SC 29307. There will; however, potentially be days that we will meet off-site if the curriculum calls for it. Advanced notice of alternative meeting places will be given and will be at no additional charge to the trainee.
WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT IN MY TRAINING?
- $100 of your payment is considered a non-refundable deposit. This non-refundable deposit is included in your payment.
- Early Bird Rate: trainees who pay in full by 6/30/13 can take advantage of the Early Bird Rate of $2,000 ( includes $100 non-refundable deposit) total paid in full at registration (+ the cost of books)
- After 6/30/13 the Regular Rate is $2,200 total (includes the $100 non-refundable deposit) paid in full at registration (+ the cost of books)
- 4-Payment Easy Pay Plan is $2400 total (includes $100 non-refundable deposit + the cost of books)
- 1st payment of $600 due by 8/1/13
- 2nd payment of $600 due by 10/1/13
- 3rd payment of $600 due by 12/1/13
- 4th payment of $600 due by 2/1/14
- Failure to make Easy Pay Payments by their due dates will result in expulsion from the teacher training program and the student will forfeit any previous payments made.
- The cost of books is not included in the cost of the Teacher Training and is the responsibility of the student.

WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
-Cancellation 2 weeks or more prior to 1st workshop: 100% (less $100 deposit)
-Withdraw from program after training begins will be refunded at 50% and will be prorated based on the number of trainings remaining and the cost the student paid (less the $100 deposit).
-If student is unable to complete the program due to medical circumstances, student will have the option to apply their remaining credit to the next training program or to receive a refund based on the terms stated above.
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE TEACHER TRAINING COULD BE CANCELLED?
Anything is possible. While we would love for this training to be full; however, in order to make economic sense, we reserve the right to insist that the minimum students required for this training to run is 5. On the flip side, we want our students to have the most individualized and personalized experience possible; therefore, we also reserve the right to cap the training and to allow a maximum number of students permitted to 12 trainees.
If minimum student requirement is not met, any students who have already enrolled will be given a full refund, including deposit. In the event that ZGY cancels any portion of this training- not to be made up during a makeup weekend, the student will receive a full refund for the remaining trainings (to be determined by the cost the student paid) or a ZGY credit to be used at future trainings; however, ZGY will not refund the cost of any books purchased by the student.
